Peace

Charmaine Bartlett

Making peace with the past

is hard, they say.

But it's worth all the pain

that I felt every day.

I have a new freedom-

forgiveness paves the way;

and a burden is lifted.

Again, I'm amazed !

The murky water is clearing,

as I lift my arms to Thee.

Tears well up and run down my cheeks

as I realize how good

You've been to me.
