Expectant Eyes

Tune: Franconia

('Blest are the pure in heart')

Psalm 123

******

To you I lift my eyes

From the earth to the skies

To where you dwell, Lord, there on high

In heaven, yet here nigh

Behold, as the eyes, see

Of servants, they keenly

Look to hand of their masters true

So maids to mistress[es] do

Our eyes look to the Lord

We wait, trust in His word

The Lord our God, until that He

Has mercy on us free

Lord, on us have mercy

And see our enemies

For we are scorned by them, contempt

From them we not exempt

But save us from their hand

You, Lord, of every land

By your grace we shall mercy know

You shall again it show
