I like to pretend the butterfly
that passed me
told the world to mourn
I like to pretend the island calmed me
that the winds spoke condolences
and the grass looked extra soft
I like to pretend the sun was in hiding
and peeked out sometimes
to see how I was doing
I like to pretend the sea felt sorry
and turned lake-like just for me
sent glitter, just to make me happy
I poeticise
to make sadness feel
less confined to me

Very beautiful really!
thank you 🙂
I do the same thing. Sometimes i feel guilty about, like the whole world revolves around me but there's no need to make a big deal about it. Its a coping mechanism is all, and we all could use one.
thank you, i agree. exploring coping mechanisms is really interesting and necessary in a way, to realize that you are not alone.
Yep, just don't overdue it and rely on said mechanism, its good to leave that zone because it's the only way to improve (As someone with anxiety I can assure you this has worked for me).
Wow this was truly art. Poetry is an escape and an effective one. The way you personified nature as well is beautiful. Bravo! 💖
thank you so much! this is a poem i've had in my notes app for ages and never expected people to enjoy because I thought it was too simple and repetitive, so I'm really happy you like it!
