A Life Time

LoKiLifted

Vast mind, my past time…

Surrounded by the blind in this repetitious rewind, I find… Enlightenment; giving meaning to the time I’ve spent, never focused on where it went, but what it meant.

Wanting to live lavishly, happily, yes I can, but I been too focused on reality.

Wondering where’s my ignorant bliss, feelings amiss, I make more facial expressions when I piss.

Many in mankind acting like shit, goons in government choosing who seems fit,

I deem this, BIAS, my emotions wild like forest fires, by these liars, who forgot how to dream and desire.

Authorities, please excuse me, I respectfully disagree with the rights gifted from grief, given to me. I’ll unveil the true colors in depth, with simplicity.

Hyped up labels…

Brought to the table from fables, I’m able and stable, calm like the water that cradle, had my character developed through cable, remember, life should be sweet, should be…

Maple, syrup, pour up, hiccup, doubled up my cup and now I can’t sit up, my life was so dry that I needed to re up my sobriety…

S.W.E., lost in THC, sweating to sustain serenity.

What was life before I indulged and became induced? It’s a only problem when you start to abuse, misuse and mix, reuse and hit, they spiked the spliff and now you tripping in a ditch, wishing you had a little bit more breath to make your last wish, to say your last words, recalling recollections so absurd, saying I vanish with no regrets in this world,

beyond foolish;

word from the wise it’s better to be alive, not die, remaining clueless.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem when I was 15 from all the realizations and struggles I endured when I was introduced to America. This poem literally sits in my heart.

    Okay. Wow. That was a lot to digest but I'm in love with the way you expressed this poem. It reminds me of my own poetry. I love your rhyming patterns and the way you weave the poem with assonance and consonance is lovely. The message I totally get, as a fellow Floridian where Mary Jane is VERY much present. And where government is very much "BIAS[ed]." Great poem! 👏💖
