The Passing of Hermione

Neville

The Passing of Hermione

From her being some kind

of groovy

hippie chick, to heroin chic,

in under three

whole calendar months

was surely

some kind of record ..

But whatever

the Coroner eventually says,

the fact remains ..

While still fresh out of rehab

Hermione finally

mainlined her good self away

Beneath a bridge,

that will never bear her name ..

thanks Orchidee .. with the exception of a few lines in the local rag maybe, this scribble may well be the only thing left to remember her by .. & I firmly believe she deserves not to be forgot ........... N

This is unfortunately happening way too often even in my country. Often young women are taken advantage of by syndicates promising them wonderful rewards. A real tragedy.

      • Neville

Yes, absolutely it is a global phenomenon & has been around since long before I can now remember .. thank you for your insight and your visit Roz ............................................................. Neville

Sometimes the drug is just more powerful than the person.
Sadly, they all have a story to tell, usually at the end you hear it. Sad poem on a sad subject.

Sad indeed ................................................................. thank you Paul B .......................... Neville P

I have known addicts in my years. The one's I knew were not terrible people at all. Their habit caused them to do horrible things and i would keep a respectful distance to avoid being taken advantage of. All too often tragic ends make local news. All too often addicts are wrongly identified as being the dregs of society. So misunderstood, they are victims in many ways of crimes lurking in our society.
            A very moving piece today.

You told quite the story with this one although so sad it's not a story at all. The last 4 lines are terribly tragic. Great write!

                A tragic read
                A dreadful end
                Common in so many around
A news which keeping popping in surround
                How much grief one holds
                That only dope could cure
Alas the months left so small
And sad for those who are left alone after their passing
And hats off to those workers who try their best in rehab centres
I have always felt, this situation is immensely difficult for the friends, family and the warriors who try their best not to lose hope
A wonderfully penned essential poetry dear Neville

Such emotions can be felt by others when drug abuse takes away a person who you know.
                    Sad words Neville.
