the last good day is sooner than we think

melellendixon

i wish i could halt the world
to cherish each moment with you
as you gave your life being my sun
but you won't see me blossom
and i cry prematurely
wondering if each hug is the last
even when i know it's not
for you may have no regrets in this realm
but I'd give my soul to keep you safe in the next
then realize my own existentialism is a reality
and maybe I'd fear my own fate
in a desperate attempt to forget yours
