GROWN-UP's

wise.word.weilder

Yes, we are grown-up.

Heavy emotions, with a smile along,

So puremelting hearts around,

Having something in mind; painful to talk,

Not to anyone around; anymore.

The feelings; not what we generally talk about,

Even with family being around.

Is this what being a grown-up is?

Then yes, we have grown up,

That to a fine one.

Not to forget,

There is always someone there.

Resulting in the question called SAFE,

Is it Safe?

What is Safe?

Well, in this world,

There is no such thing.

Why so?

Saying it is hard when it is hard,

Saying it hurts when it hurts,

Saying we are lost when we are lost,

Saying we need love when we need love;

And,

Saying it is lonely when it is lonely.

It is not something we get freely accepted for,

So why cry?

It is human to be lonely.

Eventually, that is what we do,

We prefer being lonely,

Instead of being with family.

Build a shelter in our hearts,

Keeping everything locked up in there.

Taking those feelings; till the grave.

As Occasionally,

Some Secrets are better off as Secrets.

Yes, we are grown-up.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Well, what does it feel like to be a grown-up? Everyone must have a different view on this and, that is not wrong at all. We grew up having different experiences, choices, preferences, situations, and consequences. That has made us what we are today. Yes, we are the only ones in ourselves. We are different and what we want is only acceptance.

A coming of age! Growing up can be scary but also liberating! It's a sense of new independency and a chance to prove your worth to the world! You surely expressed this very well and the complicatedness of being "grown up." Well done! 💖
