JUST ONE FLOWER

marrianna

How would you feel all alone in a field that was empty and cold and unkept.

I was walking in silence trying to find just one flower but I couldn't see nothing as yet.

I had to look more, I just had to explore because flowers just can't disappear.   They were there in abundance not too long ago so something had happened I fear.

Then I saw it, a flower, looking very forlorn and I couldn't believe what I saw.

Oh dear, I said quietly, you don't look very well, whatever has happened to you?

The flower raised its head to make a reply revealing the beauty inside.  Colours of skies and colours of green with colours of rainbows that I'd never seen.    It spoke to me softly with an edge of despair about things that were wrong that the flower wanted to share.

The men have been here with their cutting machines  and I have to bow low so as not to be seen.                         I just need a breeze that will scatter my seeds to a place that is safe in the shade of some trees.                                                   We need to be cherished and handled with care away from machines that bring us despair.    A family of daisies disappeared overnight and buttercups and cowslips are now a rare sight.                                                I am here for a purpose to perfume the air and provide precious food for small creatures to share.            The earth is our mother in adornments of colour set in flowers and grasses of green.   With her abundance of gifts she supplies for our needs.     It's her kingdom of riches where she reigns in supreme.                                     Diamonds of clover that are white or light pink.  And bluebells and merrybells  that are almost extinct.  The union that is nature with our mother the earth constantly renewing the gift of rebirth. She invited us here to replenish and restore and what you are taking is not rightfully yours . With concrete you plough and with concrete you sow,  so the fields are now empty - so tell me -  where can we go ?    I had to step back as I felt a light breeze and I saw how it lifted and scattered her seeds. I stood there in awe of the magic I saw. Just one flower in a field that I will never forget.  One lonely flower.... Just one flower left.................  The End .................

Very gracious Marrianna! Eloquent and the imagery and execution was great! Modernization brings setbacks to our world and we must be prudent about our actions! Great job! 💖
