The Ghost Train

Paul Bell

You’ve got to get in from the start

Girl, love, mortgage, house

The trip has begun

Seat belt on

Forget the plan

The roller coaster will take you up

But not for long

Life's like that

Tells you in the song

OK, we’re heading down

Is that a frown

Look around

Girl gone

Love

Off with Joe

House

You don’t want to know

No mortgage though

Now, was that a thrill

All the fun of the fair

What, bitter pill

She isn't there

That’s the roller coaster

High and low

No one knows

New woman

Don’t try to explain

Seat belt on

Let me introduce the ghost train.

    the truth of your words
    makes this, Dark humour
    the bitterness of regret
    makes this, a difficult read
    for some
    for those blessed, other's
    they'll laugh along, unknowingly...
    (a write that hits home
    for me, personally
    thanks for sharing, dear Poet)

        lol
        and people wonder
        why we find bitter alcohol
        such a comfort

L.B. Mek said this best, "dark humor." All the ups and downs of life and the evolution of character. Great poem and I hope the next stop is soon to come for I'll be staying by the subway station from now on, I'm scared of ghosts. 😅💖

Engulfed is the harshest tales of the life that fate weaves…humour it maybe, but tragedy in another kind… a story though with no happy ending in life…witty poetry dear Paul
