As politicians crave power and greed
Innocent victims are left in need
Peace loving people must face their plight
With no other option but to stand and fight.
The front-line soldier with all his might
Will stand up for what he believes is right
To protect his comrades, his family, his life
Like so many before may lose his fight.
Mummy, please make it stop she cries
Through bloodshot eyes from smoke filled skies
With no escape and nowhere to hide
The mother prays they can both survive.
Too many victims will lose their lives
From the comfort of our homes, we empathise
And hope diplomacy will lead to peace
Praying all hostilities will eventually cease.
Conflicts and war are a constant threat
Win or lose, we promise never to forget
Yet so many people still live in fear
Of losing the lifestyle we all hold dear.

I'm with you, sadly those that have to fight are the usually innocent victims of a corrupt or at best questionable leadership regime
