Build your life upon Christ the Lord
He is the living Word
He the chief corner stone, solid
Build on me, He does bid
It is a chosen stone, precious
In mercy given to us
Believing on Him, we not be
Shamed nor confounded, see
We a chosen generation
Made up from each nation
A royal priesthood, Christ our King
We praise Him to Him sing
And too a holy nation we
Peculiar people be
God's own special people to show
His praises, Him we know
The praises of God, he the one
Who saves us through His Son
He has called us out of darkness
To His light, we confess
A marvellous light, for great things
He does, salvation brings
We once were not a people, see
Now people of God we [are]
And too once we had not obtained
Mercy, but now unfeigned
We have obtained mercy 'tis sure
By God's grace evermore
