Please don't stop the rain

rrodriguez

Please don’t stop the rain—it makes

her shimmer

With pure sparkling water drops

kissing her

With sparkles of light rolling down

her hair

like diamond dust-laden clouds

in the air

A sudden flash from her eyes is

thrown

Like the ray that streams from the

moonstone

Oh, young precious pearl the rain days

come

With strings of crystal chiming

rhythmic hums

And her standing there soaked

dripping rain

In silence and smiling innocently

rain come again

Entirely possible to have too much of a good thing, you know - as many folks on the East Coast of Australia can testify.
Never mind - in a different context, a different time, I could conceivably have enjoyed your piece.

Thank you for the dose of reality. This is a poem about a young girl enjoying a day of rain in front of her house. I live in a country where the threat of rain and hurricanes is a yearly matter. Remember Hurricane Maria how it devasted my island of Puerto Rico. So, I wrote this poem as a snapshot of a few hours under the rain. Have you done that?

Have I written a poem about rain?...... Not yet...I'll wait until I can view it with some perspective, .....

        Have a good one.

        Super words rr.

"LIFE isn't about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the RAIN!"

Thank you, Andy, for your comment. This is a poem about a time when my wife was a young girl in Puerto Rico enjoying a rainy day, not about a storm like Hurricane Maria devastating Puerto Rico. The poem is free verse and lyrical to highlight the enjoyment of the rain when you're young.

I love this beautiful, lyrical poem! Since I was a child I've loved rainy days; watching it, hearing it, sometimes going for a walk in it. Thank you for this special piece.

Bella thank you for reading my poem. This poem is the inspiration for rainy days when my wife enjoyed being out getting wet as a young girl. Thank you!
