In our lives we seek perfection,
That perfection is so hard,
So hard to achieve.
But if, if you reached it
For what would you then aim?
In our lives we can be content,
We can be rich and happy,
Rich and happy with what we have,
What we already have.
So who needs perfection?

Andy,
Glad you enjoyed Verdiās āRigolettoā.
One of my favorite operas with one of my favorite arias, āLa Donna ĆØ mobileā.
Is there such a thing as perfection? And as you stated, āwho needsā anyway. š
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Laura, much appreciated.

Yes, I suppose there wouldn't be anything to do, if we were all perfect all at once.
I know it - striving for singing perfection. I've only had 9,453 lessons so far. lol.
So true Orchi,we wold have nothing to achieve if we reached perfection.
Andy
Tutor says my singing is 99% perfect. It's that pesky 1% to work on!
Well I've reached the grand old age of being just a tad younger than you without any perfection in my life so far.... so I guess you're right. Who needs it?
True d a, us oldies have go this far and had a good life, what else do we need,
Andy
What a good question with beautiful lesson, thank you for reminder Goldfinch
Thank you Niyitanga, most kind,
Andy
We can strive for excellence in what we do. We don't need perfection. A good reminder thank you.
As log as we keep on striving all will be wonderful in our lives.

this is why, I will die
a devout scribbler
and never, a professed poet...
(what wise words, Andy)
Thank you Mek, we all remain devout scribblers.

No we don't need perfection. We need only be happy and satisfied with current circumstances. From the poor to middle class to the rich, we hopefully have one thing in common, we are grateful for our loved ones!
So very true Christina,
Andy
Being perfect and aiming for perfection are both unattainable, as poetically stated by you.
I forever fondly remember my attending this opera at the āBaths of Caracallaā near Rome in the eighties.
Thank you Suresh, yes perfection is unattainable.
Glad I brought back memories.
Andy
What honest words preached to all! Thank you for sharing this, I loved it.
So kind KRW, much appreciated.

Your words are so true! A full rich life is what you make it. Beautifully said. I saw an opera (Rigolleto) for the first time as a senior in high school, on a field trip. It seemed like a great way to get out of an afternoon of classes. However, when the lights went down, the curtain went up, and glorious music and voices filled theatre I was hooked.
Thank you Bella.
It is so wonderful that you became hooked on the opera, music has been in my life for seventy years and still i cannot get enough of it.
Andy
