Brain: A Monster Within

Pacifique Niyitanga

Boring thoughts—
Replaced your bliss,
And the peace of mind;
Initiating prolonged—
Nervosity and worries

All alone with no urge
Makes you feel antsy;
Only disgruntled in—
No one except yourself.
Sometimes you wish to—
Turn off your brain,
Eat without your fingers,
Rest in peace and cease

With self-belief, win your—
Insecurities and your sloth,
Try to flee your depression;
Hanging out with someone—
Instead of hiding yourself
None but you can free you.

    Wow this was spectacular. I love a good acrostic and this one was beyond. Very true to many nowadays. "Sometimes you wish to— Turn off your brain," is such an impactful line. Very well done!

      Mental disorders are real, nowadays the only powerful enemy we have is our minds. Thank you for the great comment.
