I stroll through the vast woods familiar
Reminiscing yet dormant memories,
And remembering the insignificant details
Albeit beautiful nonetheless
Just like the woods, of which I stroll.
Birds chirping, leaves rustling,
Gusts of wind as blowing breeze,
As I wander further west.
I stopped to observe the scene before me,
Memories flashing through my mind.
The remnants of a collapsed cabin,
Though broken and a mess.
Flowers and grass cover the planks
That constitute the cabin.
A bird flew on the structure,
Laid down, begun to rest.
With all of them, who were “best friends”
In the cabin, our summer we spent.
Although now apart and crumbled,
It’s the only reminder after we part
Of the times we can’t relive,
Of the fights yet to forgive,
Of the joy we mutually give,
Now only in our hearts.

- Comment from author about the poem: To start off this poem has nothing to do with a movie of the same name. Anyway, the cabin, which doesn't actually exist, represent a group of friends which I slowly grew apart of. I still remember the times we had and all the fun times and I still enjoy all the time I spent with them, whatever they are doing now.

Good one, cabins are another friend to enjoy, enjoy your day
What a clever analogy! You wrote this really well! I love the imagery you incorporate and that wistful tone you convey is quite sad. Hopefully new cabins with new people will be on the horizon. Fantastic!
