Tune: Carol (Willis)
('It came upon the midnight clear')
Micah 5 v.2-5
**********
Micah, prophet of Bethlehem
Did speak, from thence would stem
A ruler who in Israel
Would reign, let all tongues tell
Though little town midst many towns
On you God has no frowns
For He shall come, the promised one
Jesus the Father's Son
He shall stand and feed in the strength
Of he Lord, e'en at length
In the majesty of His God
Earthly path shall be trod
For He shall be great over all
Welcome who on Him call
He shall make peace 'tween God and man
Peace as no other can
Lord, help us trust, for prophesied
It cannot be denied
That your Son born in a town small
Manger did not appal
For it sufficed His birth lowly
Light of the world we see
Shine through all darkness, Lord we pray
'Til dawns eternal day
