The Dream

Paul Bell

He spotted the building in passing

So strange

It was the building in his dream

The little round windows

Even the flower beds

The gargoyles looking down, so frightening he thought

That strange looking door

So medieval, uninviting

He remembered in his dream

The hidden pathway

Leading to the tunnel into the house

Waiting patently for the man to appear

Feeling tense when he did

He woke with a jolt

Wiping the sleep from his eyes

Looking around, wondering

The clock frowned

Time was on the move

It was at the news-stand

Where he noticed it

The headline flyer

With the words standing out

Prominent politician assassinated

So strange

It was just exactly like his dream.

I found this such an emotive read and despite my best humsnist beliefs I found myself hoping it would come to pass.

Eerie, haunting as dreams can be, a premonition that is hard to shake. Would that a dream could do the deed. Great write!

Dreams must have some sort of message.

I feel sure that there are many out there who are keeping their fingers crossed and hoping that that dream was really a premonition .... N

This is quite a dream. If it would happen, perhaps the world would be different. As of now, the dream is percolating in dreamland to be resurrected to reality or maybe not. Excellent work!

Dream not working quick enough, me thinks.
