Tune: Hursley
('Sun of my soul, thou Saviour dear')
Based on a Formal Prayer
*******
Merciful Lord, Father of life
You bring comfort in death and strife
We praise you that all people are
Made in your image, near or far
We too reflect your truth and light
We each known to you in your sight
Thanks we give for departed ones
They shine bright now as glorious sons (/daughters)
They from you love, mercy received
They trusted in you and believed
And showed your love and mercy sure
We remember them evermore
Above all we do here rejoice
We your servants, we are your choice
Your gracious promise to us made
For you redemption price have paid
Promise the we shall rise gain
At coming of Christ, that be when
It shall be, so clear vision we
Ask, that we too your face shall see
