Humanity

kitty the naughty poet

You bring out my humanity
a touch of life to dying skin
push back sorrows branches
life spent in shadows shadow
grey/blue against my fair complexion
forever divided by life & love
bound in time always in this moment

how to scale, humanity
in our dialectic of diversity
breach, our very essence of flexibility
to mould axioms, as excuses of inhumanity
blue tongue's, dare whisper
belated regret's, silence
yet, even a last blink
can carry enough emotional, resonance
of a last gasped, forgiveness
and its legacy of humane, humility
to Phoenix a new generation's, opportunity
and yield, a tomorrow basking: in our Humanity!

A spoiler alert for the Sphinx’s riddle,
for humanity is the answer,
a species that is both fierce and brittle,
that will always be a chancer,
we are the wagers of war so horrid,
but we also make some comfort,
where we all can be just awarded,
to be the mocked, or the triumphant,
I should not judge too harshly friend,
as I am you, and you are me,
thus, let both warmth and offence,
live proud, in harmony.

Humanity is to be embraced
Within all its horrid and glory
“It’s survival of the fittest”
This is the slogan of the human race
In a nutshell it really tells our story
