the tide had retreated even further that morning
strolling along the waterline hand in hand
tiny footprints alongside his deep furrows
enjoying new freedom they were finally relaxed
all worry of being caught together now lost in the offshore breeze
she was a gazelle, a thing of such grace
his most beautiful little skinhead lover
her voice excited him yet more then
smiling china blue adoring eyes fired him to please her
stolen moments forever imprinted in his soul

- Comment from author about the poem: First posted in 2017. I wrote this for the years ahead when the memories will fade but reading this piece will hopefully take me back to the very day many moons ago. That has been a purpose in many of my pieces.

"Moments forever imprinted on his soul", how beautifully penned. I think the soul is where our memories may safely abide, and you've captured that.
Lovely emotions and images dear Dusk! A compelling poem of love and don't we all have those stolen moments...or at least I hope we do..Christina
Beautiful and serene
Love and it’s pain
Yearnings that grave inside
A wonderful piece dear dusk
Memories like that can save on central heating, dusk.
Worthwhile retaining in all it's heartwarming detail.
Those moments will never leave you d a.
Andy
What a wonderful feel I had reading this. Even without paying attention to the words the cadence was soothing. The images were brilliant and evoked my walks on the beach. Lovely.
