Samuel the prophet said
To people that he led
Stand still, that I may here reason
With you for a season
Reason with you before
The Lord of His deeds sure
Which He has done in times past, He
Helped you ancestors, see
Brought them out of the land
Of Egypt by His hand* (*Spirit)
And He will too guide you this day
Reveal to you His way
In busyness of life
Activity and strife
Help us, Lord, to stand still to hear
Your messages plain, clear
So strengthened in your way
Trusting in you, our stay
Communing with you in spirit
Hearts, minds, lives by you lit
