Their thousand watts smile
Dispels the gloom in life
Their gurgling and their joy
Are the high points in our lives
Their wriggling and their giggling
On which we dote and thrive
Do brighten up our days
And illuminate our nights
Too soon they will grow up
And life will lead them on
Their childhood that we cherish
Will all too soon be gone
So let us live each moment
With pleasure and with joy
Let the morrow just keep knocking
Let their mood be high, or coy
The years will keep on marching
And childhood memories dim
So let the cups now overflow
With joy – up to the brim

The joy of grandchildren is so wonderful, may those memories always remain with us.
Andy
i agree wholeheartedly with you. my only regret is they are in a different country so we meet only when possible
'Their wriggling and their giggling
On which we dote and thrive'..
so happy for you!
(to recognise, a child's light
gracing your life
is to introduce, our existence's
unadulterated: Beauty
in-to your hopes and dreams)
thank you!
for this soothing read, dear Poet
our grandchildren are the light that dispel the gloom around us, especially when they are small, and full of innocence and mischief. you get pure unadulterated fun with them always.
thanks for your comments - have a good day
