I will always be your mirror.
On good days I am like the clothing store mirror.
I reflect back the more appeasing traits we share.
On bad days I am like the fun house mirror.
I reflect back the more exaggerated unflattering traits we share.
So now I have one question for you.
Which version of the mirror am I for you today?

Yes! I love the mirror analogy to describe how we perceive ourselves. It's true though, we often get caught up with inhibition and low self-esteem. Great message!

Isn't it funny how our own opinion of ourselves is based on how other people see us, when the truth in the matter is,our perception of ourselves should be reflected by how God see us
I absolutely love your perspective on the poem! Yes our opinion of ourselves should be defined by how God see's us. I have learned that people who's actions upset us only bother us because of our fear of ourselves. That fear of ourselves was projected on by someone else's assumption of ourselves in this continuous ugly cycle. Until the collective learns to end this thought process by teaching a better way of thinking to the younger generations we will never have a peaceful society.
