Walking A Straight Line

DestinysPerspectives

Like those around me, I was taught to draw large circles.

Like those around me, I learned the circular motion of my feet cycling through life’s hard lessons.

Like those around me, I felt the war in my heart, mind and soul.

Like those around me, a part of me yearned for my feet to walk on an infinite straight line.

Like those around me, a part of me held self belief in mastery through experience.

Like those around me, a part of me feared drawing a crooked line instead of a straight line.

Like those around me, a part of me feared that I was unworthy of an ambitious possibility.

Now unlike the people around me, I am choosing hope over fear.

Now unlike the people around me, I am choosing to see my worth instead of delusions of lack.

Now unlike the people around me, I walk in a straight line instead of circular motions.

Good for you destiny, everyone must break free of the circles

Thank you! I am glad the messaging was clear the way I expressed it. I felt that it was relatable to many and could apply to so many categories in life.

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. I am always working on improving my flow and I love when someone notices!

I think sometimes that flow in writing comes naturally .. if we are in a certain place in our mind .. maybe .

            • DestinysPerspectives

I agree! Many times overthinking and forcing an idea to work with my poetry is what ruins it for me.

Yes .. it’s like if we are in a stress , that might affect the writing , even thoughts like ‘ this is no good ‘might affect the writing . I think feeling relaxed when writing .. can be helpful . Some writings just come to me really easily .. other times I feel a little stuck ..

Exactly! I like to paint these decorative wooden cutouts to clear my mind so new ideas can come to me. It always works. I forget what writer it was that said while he was writing one of his books he was laying bricks down at his job and when he came home he had his next chapter written in his head. Mindless robotic actions of the body allow you to create and think for your creative projects.
