They call it greed
one who goes beyond need
the word starting with P
call it power in baton with nails that yield
they call it a miser
even if its a loser
cause he runs after it
the word starting with M
they call it money in hand
the words
called them mean
the people running behind
just lean
but those words, evil to thoughts
who knows who brought upon ?
they are called necessities to some,
its not about materialistic
called by nuns
money and power
makes you big
help you buy those candies and flowers
those tickets to tours and travels
how sad it is
money and power
makes you family
makes you friends
without them you are left without anyone
relationship and status bought
money and power
let you be at whims
Is it being to materialistic ?
I wonder some !
the words starting with M and P
wonder will you buy happiness for me ?

A very critical observation. In our world today, society seems to revolve around money and having a status, but in reality, they hold no weight when taking into account a person's true happiness. Like the saying goes, money can't buy happiness. A great examination into the corruptness.
Thanks dear Rocky, quite caught in dilemma of have and have nots…
On one hand I think, who doesn’t want to be rich.
Money buys comfort,security,health,..but for one to chase after such a desire and achieve it takes greed. But on the other hand,I must ask myself, what about those who chased it on chance. Like playing the lottery,or going to casinos in their attempt,a little less greedy perhaps? Or those who never chased it at’all, but was blessed with inheritance? But when it’s all said and done. I guess it really does depends on how they use it regardless of how the came into it. Cheers. Great write spills.🥂🕊🌞👍
Wow dear fallenangel you truly got into my write….you summed it well and even showed me the shadows of this topic in other aspects…to chase may mean greed but we can’t deny the importance of having it…so true maybe its use may define if its greed or just simply needs…thanks dear Fallenangel for stopping by

Weird! Not sure how my comment showed up twice?🧐😂
It happened with me as well
Maybe on Teddy’s poetry once
I couldn't agree more about money and power. It seems to make some people feel invincible. I've seen too much of that in many of our politicians and celebrities lately, and I wonder how we pull ourselves back from the brink. A very thoughtful and timely piece dear poet. Kudos!
You deciphered my opinion and truly voiced my emotions dear Bella. Thanks for the appreciation, and I truly feel elated that I could converse my thoughts clearly to you.
some of us have everything we need .. actually, I believe more people fall into that category than many would admit to ... this is a splendid poem that touches on several raw nerves .............. N x
Thanks dear Neville
Many of us have
But still we feel it’s less
And don’t know when the race to reach shall stop
None is immune to this maniac race
Well I could touch some nerves
So Glad
very profound, its interesting how human interactions are a double a jeopardy, sociologically speaking, because spiritually it was never meant for it all to be so complicated.
I liked reading your take on this subject!
Dahlia
Thanks dear Dahlia and further upon the deep thought you struck while reading it. Spiritually if one could follow it would be lot easier.
At times, W. Somerset Maugham's Quote- 'Money is that sixth sense without which you cannot make a complete use of the other five' does make sense in today's world. A fair depiction of P and M!
Wow i am amazed by the vast knowledge you hold dear poetess….i wish i could fave that thought you quoted….shall keep it in my thoughts….
Thank you for your kind words. 'vast Knowledge' as alluring as it may sound but, I'm nowhere close to you and others here on the MPS.
