within a picture in my mind

dusk arising

talking, holding hands
walking out together
near and distant lands
brought as one beneath
true love which radiates
onto the proffered plate
within a picture in my mind

fear and deathly guns
to be heard no more
and bread for everyone
every illness cured
love has conquered hate
upon a proffered plate
within a picture in my mind

each will have their say
health and education
our world upon this day
becomes one solid nation
love it's noble state
gifted from a proffered plate
within a picture in my mind

but awakening i find
fear and hate surrounding
have i been so blind
reality confounds me
has it come to late
to offer from the plate
within a picture in my mind

was this how its meant to be
are we made to fuel
this crazed insanity
am i such a fool
who's appetite will sate
this blood upon the plate
within a picture in my mind

  • Comment from author about the poem: I suppose this is about the thought that the worlds troubles can be solved by cash (upon a proffered plate) from the wealthy west. (proffer definition: to offer something by holding it out)

Peace will come through British and American weaponry, which in any other world would sound mad, but mad dictators can only be beaten by force.

Ego, to control, to be the winner always, bulldozing anything along the path.

Such true words d a, those who can find the solutions will not put a single penny on that proffered plate.

dusk such a great poem with the first half contrasting with the second half. Unfortunately we have progressed technologically far beyond our social progress. Until we see a revolution for ethical and moral progress equal to our technological one peace is far away.

sadly you raise some of the self same questions I find myself repeatedly asking ... perfectly poemed nevertheless ........ N
