Limbo...

kitty the naughty poet

Trapped within limbo without light

sailing between worlds with no end in sight

searching for the sleep that evades my broken mind

as hope turns to ash in my hands

seeping through the fingers like smoke

washed away in the waves of water

dripping from my eyes in protest...

Imprisoned by the shadows of the night

lost in the sea of emotion

drafted by my destroyed mine

reaching for light

alone floating through the ocean storm

in a boat built of my broken dreams

and oars crafted from fractured fantasies...

I sleep...

Stuck in a darkening nightmare

surrounded by the catacombs of life

dark and starving for light

a different cave for every battle I've faced

my worst fears call out from the

shadows of the night.

Now I'm shackled to a old rickety boat

by a silver chain wrapped around my torso...

alone and afraid

as it slides through the waves

going from cave to creepy crave

taking me on a tour through my worst memories and fears.

Such an engaging good writing , Katie ! Really well expressed and I like the flow to this

Sometimes we can feel so trapped and depressed , wanting to see the light

    'when we escape, reality
    to our comforting, nightmares...'
    such is life, at times
    lucky for those of us
with a few more Aurora's, awaiting
to gift us a moment of reprieve..
    thank you, dear poet
    what a brave write
    in such a raw emoting
    of poetic sincerity

    A fine write, Kitty.
    Felt every moment of it.

That nightmare may be with you Kitty but the light will shine upon you when you awake.
