Well todays the day,
The day when my younger brother reaches a milestone,
A milestone in his life,
His three score years and ten is today.
Throughout the years we have been blessed,
Blessed with love for each other.
We may not show it
But it has always been there,
Even if we do not admit it.
Our competitive nature was shown
In the racket sports we played,
Played in our younger days.
He could beat me at squash.
I could beat him at badminton.
But tennis was the game.
Both equally matched
We just would not give in,
So after two hours on the court
We would crawl off
And collapse by its side.
Now we do not play any more
But we chat about our lives
And our things that are important,
We talk about them every time.
The first is wine.
We both enjoy our wine
And have drunk the odd glass together.
We both cook and talk about our creations.
When we cook for each other
We ensure that it is the best meal.
The best meal we can create.
Create for each other.
The final two are our loves.
He plays golf,
I play croquet,
And we speak for hours about them,
About how well we are playing.
Well he has reached seventy
And the thing that I like to say
Is that I do have some grey hairs,
But I have fewer grey hairs than him,
Him, my YOUNGER brother.

A fine write Gold.
Share that wine without me. You know I will only add water! lol.
That’s why I don’t invite you, your water is too powerful for us.
Pah! grey hairs, you're both lucky that you have any hair. Mines shaven off and i hit the three score and ten last month. My three year older brother didn't make it sadly but we weren't close.
You've posted a great poem today about brotherly love. I know you will have reflected on scenes from your past, from childhood and reading your fine words took me back to my childhood too... thank you.
Happy birthday Terry, may you live on in fine health to celebrate many more with your close ones including brother Andy.
Thank you d a, our childhood was filled with good times and good music which we have both inherited from our dad.

I am so jealous!
you make having a brother
sound like everything, I ever hoped
it would be..
may both of you stay blessed
by that accommodating peace
anchoring, your friendship..
I wish you both good health
and active minds..
I will toast to your brother's 70th tonight
hope he has a lovely day
'many happy returns, yet'
cheers! 🍻
Thank you Mek. Cheers.
Andy
Having fewer grey hairs is really the argument to have. This needs to be emphasised. I would be looking at Bill-posters just to remind him.
Thank you Paul, I do remind him!. LOL

I was an only child, so your homage to your brother on his birthday is especially touching to me. I think that love shared with a sibling is different from any other, and you are both so fortunate to have this wonderful relationship. Beautifully written!
Most kind Bella, yes there is a special relationship between us.
