Prayer to a Friend

Saxon Crow

Dear God

Before I pray

I wanted to tell you that I'm ok

I don't feel lonely

Or feel in need

I'm not unwell

Or indeed afraid

My family are fine

No worse than any one else

My job is fantastic

And I'm proud of myself

I have no woes to be concerned about

And I learnt that there's no need to shout

In fact my life is looking bright

It has ups and downs

And some wrongs and rights

It helps me appreciate all that I've got

And keeps me grounded not wanting more

So the reason I've called on you my Lord

Is to say "Hi how are you? I hope you're ok?"

And to thank you, God, for every single day

I think more people need to take the time to thank God for the small things too, and just talk, instead of only when in need

Wonderful poem...it's great to thank god for the days we do have because they are numbered. Wonderful!

I like it. Who or whatever we perceive our god to be, or even for those who believe no such thing exists, it is good to celebrate wellbeing. To be thankful for our lot especially when news of such suffering and need reach our ears and eyes.

A truly uplifting poem - well it certain lifted me as i'm sure it will for others.
