I have a sadness so profound
It resides deep inside of me
Within my soul it does abound
It is my constant company
My mind and heart it does confound,
So solitary and lonely
Send my body to join the ground
And forever in peace I'll be

Deep sadness can be a killer. It can indeed be like a cancer eating away at the heart and mind. A sad poem, but one filled with respect.
I thank you for your review and comments
A quite downhearted perspective. I can relate though, sometimes others can make you feel this way or maybe it could've been brought up from self. But nonetheless I hope you can fight on and keep your head up.
Thank you Rocky for your review and comment. I have had my down moments but I don't always write about myself. This is about someone else I knew.
WE shall all share the peace of interment or cremation one day though I believe our spirits will pass into another realm.
I think many of us carry a sadness from a past event or many events but these are concealed from the day to day. I have a deep sadness for some thing very close to me but i do not let it show unless a trigger finds a chink in my quite thin armour.
When people are terribly hurt the pain resides within them forever but for most of us we can say we are more than that pain, I will not let myself become that pain.
Yours is a very sad poem and I am sorrowed to read you carry such pain. I empathise and wish you the strength to face each day through.
Thank you for your review and comments dusk. Although I have had my shar of pain this poem was more about others I have seen. Thank you for your concern.

Thank you Agatha for your review and comments.
When people drag you into their thought life it can be very dangerous and like your title! It’s a psychological cancer. Thanks for sharing.
