Off to the Jazz Club we went
As we do every month,
The quartet came on stage,
All five of them.
Five is not a quartet you say,
But there was one extra,
A man with long hair and long beard
Standing in front of his instrument,
A vibraphone.
They started playing,
Piano, guitar, bass and drums,
And the vibraphone.
A wonderful evening of jazz
And the vibraphone player
Was outstanding,
But the best part,
The part that enthralled me
Was his name,
A name that brought a taste,
A taste to my mind
And a drink to my mouth.
His name was Beaujolais,
Roger Beaujolais.
The jazz was good
But the wine was better.

Aberlour for me
So if you drink whiskEy you drink Irish or American, Scottish whisky does not have an E in it!!
So I didn't turn up, if the wine was better! lol. Have I been banned?
Very true Orchi, otherwise he he would have been call Beau- eau-jolais. LOL

One of the best titles of a poem I've ever seen, snatched me by the eyes it did. A wonderful read, too. Gotta say though, wine ain't for me lol
Thanks Nicholas.
I enjoy good wine, good ale and good whisky.
Andy
Well, looks like it was really enthralling dear Andy?
And glad you wrote in a poetry for us to enjoy as well…
Thank you spilleronsheet, yes it was a very good evening of jazz.

Great to hear the vibraphone again - had to put head[hones on specially. I've long been a fan of the MJQ who as u know regularly had famous guest artists too.
Red whine and a drive home, hope you observed those quirky speed limits along that route. ( I was at Evesham's hospital on Tues and took care to stay within the limits).
I have many of MJQ'a albums, a great group.
You should have told me you were in Evesham d a, we could have met up.

With a name like Beaujolais, he'd have to play the vibraphone. Sounds like an extraordinary evening. Cheers!
Thank you Bella, it was a very good evening.
