I stand in the peace of a moonless night
And fill my lungs with a deep breath
Hold it, hold it, and feel the silence
Then exhale slowly, listening
As the breath escapes in a whoosh
Breathing out, out into the universe

Yes dear Bella when we seek silence and breathe night's peace we learn our smallness as more life fills our hearts - -- a inspiring read.

I suppose we are but a mere particle in the big scale of life, which can be a bit frightening at times.
Thank you Paul, you put it very well. Looking at the night sky certainly brings home to me where I fit in the scheme of things.
the universe is vast and unfathomable and it is as much a part of us as we are a part of it. every breathe we take and release resonates that deep rooted connection. great lines Bella!

Breathing helps center us, calm us and is a method used by different groups for meditation, yoga etc.. In fact it is so basic that the verb, to be, derives from a time that was so ancient that the only way to express that one was alive was to say that it breathed. Therefore to be meant to breath.
Dear friend your comment means so much to me, thank you. I do meditate and your words are very reassuring.
