No Looking Back Again
Looking back like that
over her
shoulder, the way
that she
always did, with those
far away
eyes of hers, like flashing
blue lights
tho’ somehow demurely
at our
old here and there’s ..
Yes there,
where we once shared
discreet,
all too brief moments
with my
breath on those lips
of hers
cold, dark and lingering
like some
tasteful, eternal eclipse ..
Back then,
I clearly remember
I had no
expectations and not
once
felt that way before ..

The pathos of losing what way back was hoped for of "old here and theres" comes over so touchingkly in these lines of memory dear friend.

It's almost like a sinful succulence, isn't it? Memory. For its sake men die every day. It's cruel, so very sweet, sour, and always ready to grab you by the neck. I wonder which one this is for the Author. A splendid read, Sir Neville. Thank you for the kick in the head. (A jumpstart really)
