Tune: St Timothy
('O Holy Ghost, thy people bless')
*********
Let us now pray with confidence
To God, Father, for hence
Christ He has raised up from the dead
He is our living Head
Raised for the salvation of all
Of all who on Him call
Grant those here departed now know
Fullness of life, them show
For eternal life promised to
Those who trust and love you
Be close to those who mourn, increase
Faith in your love, ne'er cease
And may the living strengthened be
In faith, live for you, see
Following your Son, Christ our Lord
He e'er the living Word
Help us be ready when you call
Come to you, and not fall
Called unto your eternal life
Whole peace, no toil or strife
Show your mercy to dying here
That they trust you, not fear
Strengthen them with hope, fill with peace
Your joy in them release
Lord we commend all those now left
This earth, and those bereft
Commend them to your loving care
Which all peoples may share
We pray that with them we may share
In your good kingdom's fare
You reign eternal over death
Your life-imparting breath

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. format. The last in this series. Hope it's not been doom-and-gloom to read. The series is intended to bring comfort and help in some ways. Call it a 'Service of Thanksgiving' if 'Funeral' seems too gloomy.

AAHHHHHHHGHHGHGFHGH YOU USED THE WORD "BEREFT"!
Awesome sauce is awarded to this man by order of the Peaky Blinders.
What a wonderful thing it would be,
To know strife no more; or uncertainty.
Thanks N. I've never seen Peaky Blinders. lol. I dunno what else rhymes with 'left'. Doh!.
THEFT 😀
Erm, suppose it could be a line about death being a 'thief' robbing us of life at times? 'Ping' see the light bulb above our heads, saying 'IDEA!! LOL
Haha xD Maybe that's the next theme! Treasure hunting sure is fun
