Ready

Fay Slimm.

Ready.

Each year it happens

as the Spring-show descends

into petal-pink mash.

Summer gets ready

when cherry trees scatter

crisp confetti

and as wind floors pastels

Spring becomes spent.

Each year it happens.

When the heavenly beauty of blossoms shed their petals, they, for one last time carpet the ground with that beauty, and in their shedding is hidden the seeds of fruits.
