Thank You Please.

Goldfinch60

Please and thank you,

Such easy words to say

But hearing them from others

Is becoming so rare,

So rare in these modern times.

They do not cost anything

But can mean so much,

So much to others.

So as I write these words

I write them for you all

And say my thank you,

Thank you to you all

For reading them.

Hello Andy I think it is still here .. some people are very kind abs respectful but I understand what you are saying .. it doesn’t take a lot to say please and Thankyou ., some people are simply not polite I guess

    • Goldfinch60

It is here still but not prevalent any more. Thank you for your words Violet.

My motto to live by, and impart. Yes, it is a forgotten language where everything is taken for granted.

      • Goldfinch60

So true Suresh but some of us are still polite.

We'll get a grunt from some folk, or maybe nothing. Good write Gold.
But they say please to me. I say 'I'm gonna sing'. They say 'Oh no, peer-leee-ase!' lol.

      • Rozina

Yes, forgotten words. Sometimes I've seen TQ written (presumably Thank You) in emails and other forms of messaging.

        • Goldfinch60

It is not so hard surely to say thank you.

Thank you for your comment Rozina.

I'm with you in this. Their absence has somehow made me more aware of my own useage which will not wain.

I guess us oldies have lived through so many changes and things like politeness and respect helped take away some of life's rough edges. Edges which are all the more evident in their absence.

          • Goldfinch60

True words d a, us oldies have the experience that show what politeness and good manner can mean to others in our lives.

            I go about my life
            saying my P's and Q's
            like they're engraved
in the very breath I breathe
            and people, stare at me
            like I'm, the strange one
            or some wannabe
            do-gooder...
            lol
well if that's naivety, in modernity
            then, let it be
            I rather that, than
            becoming
            some self-indulgent, rude
            ignoramus
            any day!
            (so agree with you, Andy!)

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you for your words Mek, I would not expect you to be any other way.

So true Andy. I fear technology has made us less human in a way.
                Love Abba!!!!

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you John, that is probably very true but why has it taken manners away from so many?

                  Andy

                  Dear Andy,

                  You’re very welcome…
and thank you for posting the ABBA video. My mom introduced them to me. They’re one of my favorites.

It starts at an early age. If children are taught to say please and thank you when they’re young, they’ll carry it through when they’re older. It is up to the adults.

                  Laura🌻

                  • Goldfinch60

So very true Laura, politeness must be taught by the parents.

                    Andy
