Hairdo

Rozina

I just had my hair done

It's actually quite fun

To sit in the chair

While he 'plays' with my hair

"What style for you my dear?"

"Make me look like Jennifer"

"Jenny Lopez do you mean?"

"Yes please, that beauty queen."

He worked many hours

I did smell like flowers

Then my whole body shook

'Cos I looked like a CROOK!

He gave me a fright

So he worked through the night

And now I'm very happy

'Cos I look just like ME!

I wanted a makeover for Mother's Day including a new hairdo. I brought the magazine with the hairstyle I wanted (Jennifer Lopez's) to my hairdresser. But it was not to be.....

Ah yes hair I remember that. I used to have such super hair but.... it started thinning and greying and looking awful so i got rid of it LOL. Now I'M happily a baldy and I look just like me.

But now that i am an old thing I do notice other old things looking at me strangely as if I am a nasty crook or something. Appearances can be so deceptive.

Even younger men are going bald these days - I don't remember this trend in the past.

Hairdressers must dread the photo coming out.
I want to look like her, so don't spare the horses. Then, when you get her haircut, she goes and changes it, and you're back with another photo. You look great as yourself.

      • Rozina

        True but still.....

Yikers. Not the best ending. Bad hair day? Well, at least you own up to your natural hairstyle, after all sometimes it's better to just be yourself and not follow all the "trends."

        • Rozina

True. Bad hair day is getting to be quite common these days.

          They said,
“we can stretch and tuck it, we can perm and cut”
but I thought to myself, f**k it, it’s still just me, so no haircut.
          LOL

Ya, nice to pretend for a short while at least.

Been there done that. But ended up looking like Morrisey! Sympathies and chuckles all at once!

            • Rozina

Thank you. I looked up Morrisey - oh dear. 'Rockabilly pompadour' was described.....

I'd use coarser language personally! Lol

                Dear Rozina,

Reading your poem reminded me of my aunt ‘demanding’ a Farrah Fawcett hairdo from her hairdresser. The beauty of it was that she got it!😊
                BTW…nice drawing.
                Thank you for sharing.

                Laura🌻

                    You’re most welcome.😊

I'm a bit of a silverback myself these days .. still thick on top though .. 🙂
