I walk the streets in the evening
As day turns into night.
I hide in the shadows
Hoping nobody sees me
As I trail people,
Following them along their paths,
Their paths into darkness.
Most just walk on into their lives,
So I walk on as well
Seeking others.
I am with you all the time
But you just do not realise,
Do not that I am with you.
The time will come when
When you need me
And I will be there,
Be there for you.
You just cannot escape me
No matter how old you become,
I will catch up with you
And you know that I will be there,
Be there throughout your life
And you will be mine in time.
People often ask the question
“Death where is you sting?”
I can answer that question,
“I am behind you!”

Good write Gold.
Thank you Orchi.
Brilliant!
(I like Death, depicted
ever-present, but
harmlessly, blunted
till our Time, arrives)
'Death be not Proud!' indeed
Wonderful write! Not your typical write but a little dark......I like it!!
Bloody stalkers! I saw you in Tesco's hiding behind the frozen peas then craftily peeping out of some festering sliced ham in the reduced rack.
Good to see you throwing poetic knifes of horror and haunting at us - and don't you do it well. Spooky.
Unescapable fate. A spooky one.
