Another Worthless Poem

Thomasine Dye

Another worthless poem

Another empty day

How I tire of thinking

And hearing what they say

I am beaten and worn

Everything seems to now make me cry

I know it is a cliche

But I am so lonely I could die

Grand plans come to naught

The simplest things are beyond my reach

Trapped in this ruined form

How I wish I could cease

I am weary of sleep

Though I hate being awake

No matter what I turn to

The emptiness remains

Is this how you felt at your end

My dearest sister?

Since you left this world

My life has seemed but a whisper

A whisper of lost futures

Echoing possible pasts

The moments we shared torment me

A reminder that nothing lasts

Another lovely poem... far from worthless... as Frost said, the woods are lovely, dark and deep. So is your little poem. We all feel something like the way you do in this poem sometimes. I for one feel blessed that you shared your deepest thoughts in this candid, deceptively simple lyric. There is nothing like a poem to bring out such emotions and ponderings.

Never worthless, some poems talk to others, some to ourselves. I wish you a path to a happier future…and by the way, this was a well crafted and emotional poem, well done…

I'm so sorry to hear this, but know that everything will be alright. I lost my mother at 13, so I know what loss feel like. It's unbearable, but keep in mind that there's always light, even when you can't see it. Your poems are your legacy.

You shared your feelings with the world through beautiful words---that is one of the most worthwhile, noble things you can do.
We are all blessed you shared such intense emotion here.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
