disappointed (re-write)

dusk arising

Disappointed with nothing meaningful

.         when life bids big questions 'Why?'

Whilst conscripts in a faith for 'meek and humble'

.         devoutly swallow lies.

But confounded by ambiguities

.         and those childhood instilled fears,

Each cry of 'WHY?' shouts even louder

.         and death draws ever near.

.                Neither talk to me of charity

.                nor shame me with goodwill.

.                Or the piousness of that poorest of man

.                who's name is worshipped still.

.                N0!.. look instead at their wealth and finery

.                as is launched one more appeal.

.                To empty a poor man’s pocket

.                whilst in $billions the churches deal.

Such power they have engineered

.         to capture hearts and minds.

With years of crafted psychology

.         and a fear to keep all blind.

But purity of heart was not invented here,

.         though they'd have you believe it so.

For ‘twas ever shown to each newborn child.

.         for so it was,  and will be,  tomorrow.

  • Comment from author about the poem: From the bible we learn how the child jesus threw out the corrupt traders who were a part of the then established church/temple. Today google tells us that the wealthiest organisation in the world is a christian church. The biggest financial power on the planet. Yet they look to the poor to repair their church roofs. What would jesus have thought of such wealth and dual standards. (https://www.alux.com/richest-religious-organizations/)

Such true words d a, organised religion is a complete farce dragging money from the poor.

It's big business cloaked beneath a psychological blackmail.

You pen this shameful condition in established religion so well here my friend. So many have left folds whose lust for money leaves bitter taste when once digested. Yet purity of heart still appears and so it will in all the tomorrows.

There are spiritual needs in all of us but we have by and large become too aware now to fall for the old traditional tricks of the established christian churches. Goodwill will prevail.

'The very word "Christianity" is a misunderstanding — in truth, there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross.'
          by Nietzsche
but Any religion, even the Atheist one
          as a topic
only serves to divide and segregate
          people, from people
'faith is a personal and intimate
          topic'
          far removed
          from conglomerates with their power regime changes;
          they have little to do
          with the dying, bedridden
          or downtrodden, dispirited
          seeking salvation
          in one deity or another
          that's just Natural, to me
          we all need something
          to hope or believe-in
          at our arrival
          of finite's, devastating inevitability..
          'who cares'
be it the Moon, they howl at
or a God shared between three
          archaic religions
but titled, the: 'One n Only'
          life's
          just too short, if
          its not impeding your lifestyle
then you're just wasting your life, engaging with it..
          well, unless its that very
          disharmony, you seek
          in that case
          hope creating havoc
          works out well for you..
I personally, just don't care anymore
          the subject itself, bores me
          its just Futility: Defined!

Well thank you for taking your time to express the futility which bores you.

Hi Jonas. All i can say is, if you are a poet and feel it needs saying, say it. Thank you for reading and taking time to comment.
