Watching and working

spilleronsheet

Some will soar high

fly higher above

enjoying the flight

moving around the fluffy cloud beside

while some shall remain

wriggle

still dreaming

and work shall be called; still in progress

at those moments

of silver sky

painting the sky

believe in those streaks

and continue to work

the scoreboard named them today

eventually other names shall appear

where perseverance shall make a mark

asking, why you started after all ?

Nice words spiller .. interesting words . Like your poem 🙂

  • dusk arising

A small crowd of work in progress was mown down in Texas as you will know. Parents know why they started (why you started after all) but in their grief and those feeling totally disallusioned with what has become 'normal' the question takes on a new depth... why they started after all. A plea for a less painful existence in a world which has punished so cruelly and mindlessly.

That was the most sad thing that took place…shook the soul…innocent kids and their families, a stop in their beautiful lives….the acts of maniac….and thus the question why they started of all…very rightly said dear dusk, a plea for a less painful existence….

      Brilliant!
      (forgive me, dear Poet
      if I rudely, yet favourably
      compare your words
to one of my favourite poems
      of all time:
      from, 'A psalm of life'
      by that Great Longfellow:
'In the world's broad field of battle,
      In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

      Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act, -- act in the living Present!'

'Let us, then, be up and doing,
      With a heart for any fate;
      Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.')

              Bearing the thorns
              Awaiting the bloom
Wonder when shall fruits laden around this corner
              Thanks dear Andy
