New Life To Come.

Goldfinch60

She sits on her nest most of the day,

Occasionally he comes by and sits there

While she goes off,

But she does not go for long.

The eggs are there being loved

Loved more by her than by him.

We watch them time after time,

Awaiting that time

When new life comes into our world,

And the new chicks come out

To explore their new exciting world.

The image of the woodpigeon on the nest has not come out very well when put on MPS - sorry.

Yes, some swans nesting by a riverside too, that we can see, fairly locally. Good write Gold.

This brought back memories of a bird nest that was built in a short tree in our garden. I had to watch my cat when he went out for weeks😂 until the little chicks were able to fly away. It was a joyful relief when the chicks finally took up flight and I am pretty sure my cat didn’t really like the idea of me peeping behind bushes while he did his business 😂
Another lovely poem Gold! Gotta fav it

Why do pigeons choose MY chimney pot every mating season to drive me mad with their infernal cooing. It's a chimney with a disused gas fire on the hearth so i can send them a scorching 'scram' hint.
      Grumble grumble grumble - humbug!

      LOL

It's better than crows nesting in the chimney which happened to me once a long time ago.

What fun and how rewarding to watch nature happening in your own backyard. In my neighborhood we have an abundance of white tail deer, and it's that time of year when they give birth. It's not unusual to see a new born lying in a neighbors yard with mom only a few yards away in the woods, keeping a watchful eye, dad's part is done. Your love of nature shines through in this poem, thank you.

How wonderful to see young deer so close to you Bella.
          Nature is wonderful.
