Semi-Precious Summers

Neville

Semi-Precious Summers

I wonder,

does she ever even notice

these days ..

When she’s passing, that is ..

How the old wisteria

just happens to be weeping

amethysts again ..

Presumably for us

this spring, and throughout

the whole

of our semi-precious summer ..

Just look,

where they lay now ..

And in such pretty little heaps ..

There, beneath

what was once

our bedroom window ..

Yes there, where we made love,

caught laughter,

and even wrote half decent poetry ..

Now though,

a most redundant sanctuary ..

    Good write Neville.
I recovered after that petit mort thingy. Fido don't let me have anything 'exciting'. He's kept me in this sheltered life. lol.
So today - half decent poetry..... as long as it's not ropey, grotty, rubbishy! lol.

      'Just look,
      where they lay now ..
And in such pretty little heaps ..
      There, beneath
      what was once
      our bedroom window ..
Yes there, where we made love,
      caught laughter,
and even wrote half decent poetry ..'
      (I love that poise, metaphor
      of breath
      inhaling and exhaling
      from line to line
      emoting, just how much
      it took, from your
      to out these Truths..)
what a brave write! dear Poet supreme
      and in your words
      my own, windowsills
      adorned
      by those churned, blossoms
      of love
      come back, as such vivid
      memories
      and so I too, reminisce
      and write
      and write
hoping, a day will come again
      when I can make Poetry
      out of life...
      (ever grateful I read
      and heed
      and hope, someday
      to learn
      my cherished friend)
      thank you!

You really know how to leave your mark Mek .. and I am of course both delighted and immeasurably grateful to you, for your, as yet, unwavering support .. Neville

          'as yet'..
what sobering testimony, to that cruelty of life
awaiting at every unassuming, corner or hurdle...
till our 'as yet' is revealed
          let us bask and delight
          as carefree as we can
          my friend;
          ending's, have no power
          over those
          who cherish their journeys
          like we, do..

Such an emotive verse Nev. The pathos of petalled togetherness when love had beginnings is perfectly poemed in this heart-tugging look back on days of lost summer. Never redundant your heartfelt sentiments always get this reader's top marks ............ x

and your visits invariably leave me feeling truly blessed to have such a talented poet as your good self smile down upon my scribbles ............................................ Neville x

Very emotive words Neville and such a shame that that sanctuary is now redundant.
