The Amber Hour

The Amber Hour

The storm has passed.

The sky is like an acacia flower

reminding that your lover has left you.

The sky darkens to a more lemon hue.

You are entering the amber hour.

The Sun is falling fast

The sky is now a “Golden Dream”

the sea, a giant “Maiden's Prayer.”

You wish that she was here with you

to ease you past this feeling of blue.

A yellowish dust floats through the air

and you are lost in a woeful daydream.

The sky is an amber jewel.

The clouds pass in Nature’s cavalcade.

Your tears are drops of gold.

Your heart is growing cold.

Your eyes reflect a golden shade.

You are shining like an amber fool.

The sky mixes to a bourbon brown.

The Sun, like an amber stone, is sinking.

Your broken heart is sinking too.

You are wondering what to do.

You dream of her, but it’s wishful thinking.

You realize you’ve let her down.

The Sun has set, the Moon is sand

the amber hour is done.

Nighttime has descended

Your sorrow’s been expended

When tomorrow comes, you’ll fly into that Sun

across the giant “Maiden’s Prayer,” to her land.

And there, on that faraway isle

Amber will greet you with her smile.
