The kids have guns
What do they do
They argue on tv
Gain publicity from their political views
They say they feel the pain we do
but why does that never show through
Can't stop it by making it illegal
Because that does not stop anyone
From carrying a ar 15 with a barrel drum
In to a public place
And giving all there a new face
Evil in in the human race
It's not up to us to erase
Just to forgive our own mistakes

- Comment from author about the poem: i am ending my freshmen year and in the last couple of months 2 people have been shot and killed at the bus stop I take every day to go to school, the second time it was a 2 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old who somehow got a hold of a gun and robbed and killed him because their minors that's all that can be released but I do wake up and for a split second I wonder " so is today going to be the day" I live in a shadow made not just by media and then people like Matthew McConaughey that uses it as publicity its real we have problems that we see but are convinced are not real and that's what really scares me when the world starts looking like the book 1984 we are in trouble

This is honestly so eye-opening dear poet. Reading your side note is also really saddening. How haven't officials taken control of the situation at your bus stop? If I were you I would actually fear for my life. Only a few years ago one of the deadliest school shootings occured only about an hour from where I live, the Parkland Shooting. And to see these massacres continuing is beyond words. I can only hope for brighter days.
no more than myself. hope is all we have to hope for because without it were hopeless
