My morals

a thousand wishes

As tears drip from my face

to the concrete floor

I´m staring at you walk out the door

I never accounted for wanting more

than what we have

I never accounted for it getting this bad

your eyes twinkle in the night

to hide the pain and fear

but I can hear your heart beating from a mile away

You say ¨ it's okay¨

and that there´s a special place in heaven for us

but be that as it may

I don't want to worry

about my own morals keeping you from being you

or my humanity that ends up making me

understand you

You get in your car

You´re about to drive away

your hands are trembling on the steering wheel

and you don't know what to say

Well, I don't either

I guess the cat has my tongue

but I´m just sorry

for the pain I´ve brung
