Camerton And Peasedown.

Goldfinch60

The sun shone so brightly

As I arrived at the club,

I looked out over the lawns

So immaculately prepared,

Ready for me to strike my first ball.

I was greeted happily by the club members

And I was set for a day of croquet,

My first competition this year.

I played all day,

Six matches in all,

Most with success

With a couple of losses.

But the best part was the company,

Good humour and respect all the time

And to top it all, that lunch!

Such wonderful food,

And the puddings were to die for.

Strangely after that lunch

I never lost a game.

A wonderful day was had

And my thanks go out to the club

And all the members who made that day,

Made that great day,

That great day for me,

And for all.

It’s always refreshing to read about fine days and the added bonus of a poem on a fine day is always one that we can return to. Thanks for sharing, Rik.

Your "Great Day" gave me a big smile. It is often the nice, simple things of life for which we are so grateful at the end of the day. Thank You!
