Nonsense sometimes hits these pages I know;
All brought about by the Ukrainian war.
Why not once more give love and prayer a go?
(Did I just recommend? oh dear!)
Because England at war is such a bore.
Just never mind it’s colonial past,
Its role in the Iraq war and so on:
All resolved when flag waving is steadfast
And stories retold ‘til they become the con..

Thanks Fay - I anticipate my absence to be less than a week.
I'll not pursue the topic other to say it involves a difference of opinion (who knew?😊) with another poet here which has resulted in the deletion of my entry and also I'm blocked.
Certainly the Hippies had it right "Make love, not war.

I have a feeling and a corresponding fear that there will always be wars .. sadly that is ..
Wot can I tell ya, Nev that I haven’t already pumped out here before?
Yet all I see on these pages are observations that things are bad, that war is bad, with lack of trust in politicians (should go without saying at this stage) and the only solutions love and/or prayer.
So, once more with feeling I find myself compelled to mention History. Not the kind of flag waving shit which, as I’ve no doubt mentioned before, sees for example, England as a great power which fought off the mighty foe you know when. Questions should always be asked with respect to how the current situation occurred, Otherwise “……. condemned to repeat it” is the go.
