Rosanna

Paul Bell

Rosanna, bible in her hand
Took me through the dark days
Showed me another way
I hold her hand

Rosanna, praise the lord for me
Set me free
My thoughts were dark from the start
I wanted your soul

Rosanna, your words like you are true
The good book was made for you
The passion in your eyes
The love, there’s no disguise

Rosanna, I tried, glad I failed
You can’t beat God
I know that
Knew from the start

Rosanna, bible in her hand
God in her heart
Making a stand
I watch her, rifle in  hand
God bless Rosanna.

    which 'God'?
    lol
the depth of insight in your poetic pen
    is astounding, dear Poet
    for yes, in every battlefield
    there's a devout, individual
    'Praying'
with every ounce of their pious belief
that their 'Bullet', is on Target...
    .
    .
    .
    'blood, on hands
    Holy Communion, in stomachs
    and Zealotry's: Wilful justification
    for their, collective
    heinous crimes, in minds...'
    (I
    Pray
    there is
    Enough
    mercy
    in the Universe
    to forgive
    our Collective, Cyclical legacy
    of abhorrently, Futile
    fear Induced: Inhumanity)

Always someone wanting to pray over your body. Never quite got it myself.

        literally, 'they' read
        'give the other cheek'
then go on Crusades, over dirt
        in 'His' name...
        da Fck kinda Warped Crzy
        is that???!

Dark words Paul, that god in christianity is a myth.
