Tune: Lyons
('Ye servants of God')
Psalm 103 v.1-10
********
Bless the Lord, my soul, all that in me be
Bless His holy name, faithful constantly
Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all
His benefits, He shall hear who on Him call
He forgives all your sins, forgets them too
heals all your diseases, restores anew
Redeems your life frim destruction, and you crowns
With loving kindness, mercies, His high renowns
He satisfies you with good things, provides
For you, His people, in Him each confides
Renewed as the eagle, which flies strong and free
He work righteousness, judgement for oppressed, see
He made known His ways to Moses of old
Acted for them, and His commands them told
The Lord, He merciful, and gracious, and slow
To anger, plenteous in mercy, 'tis so
He will not always chide, neither will keep
His anger for ever, but tend His sheep
He has not dealt with us here after our sins
But forgives, in him eternal life begins

oh just had the thought that if hardbound copies of these are no longer available, digital copies will make for helping us when we forget the lyrics.
Thanks CB. Some churches - some too modern for me sometimes - don't even know what a hymn book looks like. They never see them. It's 'Choruses' sung about a million times - the same ones creep in week after week. Can't they have new, or at least different ones?
You 'wanna scream it out from every mountain top' as one Chorus says?! Erm, I don't wanna, unaccustomed as I am! lol.
There is an anointing with those 3/4 hymns that can stir an aching soul into the heavenlies. But in having said that, there are those that fall dismally flat.
Thanks CB. Yes, I don't mind some modern songs. It's the repetitive ones that drive ya mad. But some traditional ones have Choruses included too, (or 'Refrains') so I can't complain! lol.
You wanna..... as I said?! Will a bit of screaming help ya? Only in response to hearing me sing?! lol.
The Lord, He merciful, and gracious, and slow
Soothes my soul!
Thanks Judy.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
